About Face Awards 2008

About Face 2008 is Think Brick Australia’s invitation-only design ideas competition. Voting for the 2008 Peer Awards is now open

The programme was first run in 2006 and featured a cross section of Australia’s best architects including Donaldson + Warn, Environa Studio and Kerstin Thompson Architects. In 2007 About Face extended this success as a competition with a strong group of architects including Donovan Hill, Iredale Pedersen Hook and John Wardle Architects, with the winning scheme by Neeson Murcutt.

The one stage competition calls for the selected architects to design a project which exemplifies innovation using face brick.  The 2008 competition will have a specific focus on the “art of brick” and again will challenge leading architects to re-think brick.

About Face 2008 Peer Award – Vote now!

It's time for Australia's architects to play judge and jury by voting for the design they believe is most deserving of the About Face 2008 Peer Award. The practice that receives the most votes by 25th September will be announced as this year's Peer Award Winner at the About Face Awards event on October 2nd.

Voting is only open to registered Australian architects who are also registered with the Think Brick Australia website.

In 2008 About Face is all about exploring the art of brickwork. As in 2007, six emerging Australian architects have been invited to take part and each will take up a challenging brief that aims to explore the possibilities for brick in the 21st century. More
