Brick Industry Appoints Sustainability Manager

The peak industry body for Australia’s brick manufacturers, Think Brick Australia, has appointed a Sustainability Manager in a move to affirm its commitment to improving the ecological sustainability of Australian building materials and practices.
Ross Maher joins Think Brick Australia from NSW Business Chamber where he was Sustainability Policy Advisor. His remit during this time included initiating, developing and delivering that organisation’s major sustainability initiatives.
Chief Executive Officer of Think Brick Australia, Linda Ginger, believes Maher will bring exceptional experience and insight to the newly created role, saying “Ross will play a pivotal part in promoting the brick industry’s role as a leader in the debate on sustainable building practices.”
Our industry’s research programme is unrivalled and has grown to the point where it requires the focus of someone like Ross to ensure it fulfils its purpose of informing and assisting government, regulators and the wider construction industry. ”
Maher is looking forward to learning more about the sustainability attributes of a new product and industry and says “there are obvious challenges facing industry globally and I am excited about working with the brick industry to meet these challenges.”
Maher joins Think Brick Australia on January 14th and will be responsible for managing the industry’s research projects, liaising with regulators and government, co-ordinating the industry’s technical committees, presenting at events, conferences and trade forums and developing and implementing training. He will be based in Melbourne.
